28 Aug Report outlines drought losses

Continuing drought would lead to continuing losses on California farms and ranches, according to a study released Tuesday.
The University of California report estimates water shortages will cost the agricultural economy nearly $2.8 billion this year and cause loss of 21,000 jobs. The losses are worse than they were last year, and the report says damage would continue to mount if the drought lingers into 2016 or 2017.
